Terms of use

Last updated 1 October 2026

These terms apply when you use Videoess (videoess.com). By using the site you agree to them; if you don't agree, please don't use it. How we handle personal information is in our privacy policy.

What Videoess is

Videoess is a guide to movies and series: where to stream, rent or buy them, trailers, free full movies, and a place for members to review, discuss and recommend titles. We don't host or sell films or shows. Trailers and free movies play from YouTube, and streaming links take you to the services that offer the title, under their own terms and prices.

Film details, ratings and availability come from third parties (TMDB and JustWatch). We try to keep them right, but availability and prices change often and can differ by country, so check on the service before you pay. Free movies are videos published on YouTube by their channels; they can be removed or blocked in your country at any time.

Your account

  • You need to be at least 13 (or older where your country's law requires) to create an account.
  • You sign in with a code sent to your email, so keep access to your email account secure. You're responsible for what happens on your Videoess account.
  • One person per account, and don't pretend to be someone else (including in your username).
  • You can stop using Videoess at any time and ask us to delete your account at privacy@videoess.com.

What you post

You keep ownership of the reviews, discussions, replies, recommendations and profile text you post. By posting, you give Videoess a worldwide, free, non-exclusive licence to host, show, and format that content on Videoess (including in search results and previews of the site) for as long as it's on the site. You confirm you have the right to post it.

Please don't post anything that:

  • is illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit;
  • shares someone's private information;
  • infringes copyright or other rights (for example links to pirated copies of films);
  • is spam, advertising, or posted by automated means;
  • reveals major plot points without marking it as a spoiler.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, or to protect the site and its members. We don't check everything before it appears, and posts are the views of their authors, not ours. To report something, email privacy@videoess.com.

Using the site fairly

Don't try to break or overload the site, get around its security or country restrictions, or collect its content or members' details in bulk with bots or scrapers. Crawlers must follow our robots.txt and rate limits.

Free movies, removals and copyright

Videoess is a movie search engine. We don't host or own the films shown as “free on YouTube”: each is a video published on YouTube by its channel, which we link to or embed with YouTube's player. We don't have the video files.

  • Channel owners: if you own or manage the YouTube channel and want a video taken out of Videoess search, email privacy@videoess.com with the video link (each free movie has an “ask us to remove it” link that fills this in). We'll remove it from Videoess.
  • Copyright claims about a YouTube video should go to the channel that uploaded it, or to YouTube through its copyright removal form. If YouTube takes a video down, it stops playing here too, and we remove it from our listings.
  • Anything else on Videoess (an image, a description, or a member's post): email privacy@videoess.com with your contact details, what the work is, the exact page address, and a statement that you're the rights holder or authorised to act for them. We'll look at it promptly and remove the material where appropriate.

Our content and other people's

The Videoess name, logo and site design are ours. Posters, images and film information belong to their owners and are shown through TMDB; this product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Streaming availability is powered by JustWatch. Service names such as Netflix or Prime Video are trademarks of their owners, used only to tell you where a title is available.

No guarantees

We provide Videoess “as is”. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be correct, complete, or online, and we may change or stop features. Links to other sites are for your convenience; we're not responsible for those sites.

Limits on our liability

Videoess is free to use. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by third-party services, content posted by members, or things outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if the change is significant we'll say so on the site. If you keep using Videoess after that, the new terms apply.
